I was watching this morning’s soft news and there was this guy, some Job hunting expert, who said that the people who are getting hired in this disastrous economy all share confidence as a key characteristic. This, of course, is bullshit. There are 3 reasons these people might be showing confidence: 1, their excellent liars (to themselves and others), 2, they either have a lot of savings or have a spouse who can cushion the hit of this economic downturn, or 3, they’ve only experienced a brief period of unemployment (meaning they were simply lucky).

I think this belief, this idea, that it’s better to higher an employee who is optimistic vs. one that may seem pessimistic is one of the reasons that they’re so many incompetent people in high paying positions. That’s because we prefer liars over realists. Being able to bullshit in our society is like having the keys to the city, the world is your oyster; until of course, you’re caught in your lie. Then you’re simply fucked.

OK, enough crudeness, I have nothing else to say at this point in my now weekly letter to the people…except this… I’m working on some great new pages for HOW TO BE BULLETPROOF. They truly look amazing! The production on this book is going very well, excellent in fact, and there are many wonderful surprises in store for the lucky readers of this here webcomic! Traffic is up, this site’s readership is strong, and, well, Goddamnit, America is Beautiful.

Hello everybody,

To excuse the painfully dilapidated updates of HOW TO BE BULLETPROOF due to the need of career change and study I will try to post an online journal of my thoughts and predicaments that seem to occur regularly to me, meaning myself. First off, I’ve recently decided what my dream occurrence is, this might be a bit odd, if I was Grand Ambassador to All things Great this is what I would decree:

1. To watch a TAKESHI MIIKE film (preferably ICHI THE KILLER or VISITOR Q) with LARRY DAVID, two of his friends, and either MARX BROTHER impersonators and/or a CHARLIE CHAPLIN impersonator. Rules of the engagement would be that Larry David and company cannot leave, and that they must express their feelings of what they are viewing, the impersonators need to stay in character. Maybe SALO would be a better choice of film, I dunno, whatever, it’s never going to happen because dreams don’t come true.

2. STAR TREK sequel to deal with MIRROR UNIVERSE storyline. Baby Trek goes into future of evil TREK where Shatner KIRK is Emperor. Pine KIRK needs to fight Shatner KIRK, both utilizing the notorious KIRK double fist punch.

Upon discovery of newly formed decrees said decrees shall be dispersed and appropriated by said public.

Hey everybody, 

I recently came across the original text for the final page of LAST WORDS and thought it worked a lot better than the, unintentionally corny, reworked narrative. So… I changed it back to the original text. Maybe there’s a lesson in that for me, or maybe it’s just on awkward ending, or maybe I’m fairly neurotic and have difficulty committing to… anything.  Anyways, new dialogue at the ending (or old dialogue as the case may be) and I also tweaked a bit of the art on LW page 11.  Check it out if you dare…HAHAHA.

In other news, I think I’ve been accepted into a Radiology Tech Program so…and this may be hard to believe for anyone actually following the site… my updates may be even more limited than they are EVEN now.

I know, it’s baffling. 

It will be a while before HOW TO BE BULLETPROOF really starts rolling again, until then, um, please be patient… I think it might be worth the wait.  In the mean time I’m going to be upping another short, well a forty page test drive of a Fantasy story I did a couple years ago. It’s called THE PANGAEAN, I hope you like it.
